Celebrating over 55 years in business, the Four Seasons Hotel & Leisure Club, Monaghan marked the milestone by claiming a hat-trick of successes at the 2025 Irish Hotel Awards on October 20 last.
No stranger to winning prestigious awards, the Four Seasons Hotel was delighted to be honoured with the following accolades: Local Hotel of the Year – Ulster; Intimate Wedding Venue of the Year – Ulster; and Revenue Manager of the Year – Ulster for Mairead Donegan. The prestigious awards recognise excellence across hospitality, weddings and leadership in the hotel industry, and highlight the exceptional skill and expertise of the management and staff of the Four Seasons Hotel, whose innovative approach to hospitality has contributed significantly to the hotel’s success and stellar reputation.
Commenting on the achievement, Banqueting Manager Barbara McKenna-Lang enthuses: “We are incredibly proud to receive these awards which reflect the dedication and hard work of our entire team. Elaborating on the awards, Sales & Marketing Manager Laura Catterson says: “We were thrilled to come up trumps in three categories following an independent and in-depth inspection of our hotel. As part of this, two mystery shoppers stayed with us as a couple and enquired about our hotel as a potential wedding host. They were incredibly believable, and we thankfully made a good impression on them.
Our Wedding Coordinator Nicola McGinnity and her team put 110% effort into every wedding. With over 55 years’ experience behind us, we offer the ultimate stress-free journey to the perfect wedding day. We have created a range of tailorable wedding offers to suit a variety of wedding styles and budgets.
As a family-owned and operated business, we pride ourselves on our personable and one-to-one service. The owners, Frank and AnnMarie McKenna, along with the Lynch family, have owned the hotel since 1986 and later went on to build our sister hotel in Carlingford in 2005. Frank and AnnMarie take great pride in personally welcoming guests to the hotel daily and ensuring 4-star service and standards are maintained by all the team. A lot of our team members have been working here for 20 years or more and have built up a great rapport with our guests and suppliers in that time. The hotel employs over 100 people who are our greatest asset.”
Laura adds: “And not forgetting Mairead Donegan who was also a very worthy Irish Hotel Awards winner. Mairead has been with our sister hotel in Carlingford for many years, but earlier this year was promoted to Group Revenue Manager. Thanks to her skills and effort, she is a very well-deserved recipient of the award for Monaghan.”
